This after school club provides a safe relaxed youth club environment encouraging children to take part in cooking, arts and crafts, computer games and physical activities and has proved popular with the community around Willows Lane and the Rumworth area.
One of our main aims with Cheeky Monkeys is not only just to give children a fun time but also to increase their confidence in a group environment helping them to socialise with other children, having a healthy dose of fun while they do it!
So whether your child needs a bit of fun to liven their spirit, an area to explore their creativity or a place where they can be themselves! Bring them along to Cheeky Monkeys and we will give them a cheeky welcome!

'CRAFT a STORY'
FREE for children age 5 - 13s
After-school club based @ Castle Hill Library
Every Thursday during term-time 3:30pm - 4:45pm
Story-telling - crafts - team-building games and more!
This great club helps our children in many different ways while giving their creative spark a big boost. Often letting them show their true colours and shock their parents in ways they would have never imagined!
The main aim of this club is to help children read out loud to the group and then discuss the book's topic.
The session is very popular with the children who attend and they are now coming up with their own Ideas for the books to read and the crafts to make. This session runs in partnership with castle hill library.
Each time we get great compliments and parents saying "Wow" at what the children produce in the crafting side of the club. This gives the children a pysical object that they have made themselves to take home with them and thats always a good thing!
Again this club is free for children between 5 and 13! So bring them along!
'Fusion Club'
Our new project Fusion is part funded by Children in Need it takes place on every Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4pm in the YMCA basement cafe.
This session is aimed at children 10 to 13 and takes place in our youth club it is to encourage children from different and diverse back grounds and from the new and incoming communities to come together.
Between 10 and 13 is a big transitional stage in their life from childhood into adolescence and sometimes Youth and children's workers can overlook this age group. Children of these ages may consider themselves too old for a children's group but not quite ready to attend a Youth club with older teenagers.
The new session will offer a wide variety of activities within a Youth club environment so there will be something for all the young people who attend to enjoy. Also we will be running a cafe during the new session where young people will be able to purchase toasties, snacks items and refreshments all at very cheap prices.
We are conveniently close to the main bus station and our dedicated staff are more than willing to help your child with bus routes/times should they want to be more independent and make their own way to and from the sessions. If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us at Bolton YMCA.
